Privacy Policy

Who this is

Olgeezer is a personal blog run by Iain ("I", "me"). This policy explains what personal data this site collects and why.

What I collect

Comments: if you leave a comment, I store your name, email address, and the comment text. Your email is never shown publicly or shared — it's only there so I can get in touch if needed. Comments are held for approval before they appear on the site.

Email subscribe: if you subscribe for new-post notifications, I store your email address and a unique token used to build your unsubscribe link. That's the only thing subscribing is used for.

Contact form: if you use the contact form, I store your name, email, and message so I can reply.

Technical data: IP addresses are logged only for failed admin login attempts, to prevent automated password-guessing. This is a security measure, not visitor tracking, and public visitors are never affected by it.

Cookies

This site uses a single essential session cookie, used only when logging into the admin area. There are no advertising or tracking cookies anywhere on this site.

Who I share it with

Nobody. I don't sell, rent, or share your data with any third party, and there is no advertising network on this site.

How long I keep it

Comments and subscriber emails are kept until you ask me to remove them, or until a comment/subscription is deleted during routine housekeeping.

Your rights

You can ask me to see, correct, or delete any personal data I hold about you (a comment, your subscriber email, a contact message) at any time — email iain@olgeezer.com. Every subscribe email also includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Changes

I may update this policy occasionally; the current version is always available on this page.
